Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

A Home Built Around Daily Support

Specialist Disability Accommodation, often called SDA, is about the structure of a home rather than the support inside it.

It focuses on how a space is designed and how that design can make daily life feel safer, easier, and more comfortable over time.

SDA homes are built for people who need physical support, accessible layouts, or features that help with safety and movement.

The goal is not to create something clinical, but to create a place that feels like a real home while still meeting higher support needs.

How SDA Differs From Other Housing

SDA is different because the building itself plays a big role in daily life. Wider doorways, smoother pathways, and smart layouts can reduce effort and stress throughout the day.

These features help people move more freely, use equipment safely, and feel confident inside their own space.

Over time, that design can make routines feel more manageable and less tiring.

When SDA May Be The Right Fit

SDA may suit people who need higher levels of physical support or specialised design features to live safely.

This might include people who use mobility equipment or need spaces that support more complex daily care.

SDA does not replace support services. Instead, it works alongside them by providing a home that can safely support those needs without constant adjustments or workarounds

Real Team. Real Photos. Real People.

You should know who is walking into your home, helping your family, or supporting your day. That is why we use real photos, not stock images.

You see the faces behind the care. You meet the people who show up for you every day. And you know exactly who is part of our team. We also created a Meet the Team section so you can get to know us before we arrive.

Live In A Home Designed For You

An SDA home is designed to reduce risk and increase comfort. That can mean features that support movement, reduce falls, or make daily tasks feel easier.

The aim is for the home to work quietly in the background. It supports daily life without drawing attention to itself, allowing routines to feel more natural and less interrupted.

SDA At Tregear

The Tregear home is a purpose built SDA property located in western Sydney, close to local shops, transport, and medical services.

It is designed for people who need higher levels of physical or complex support.

The home includes six bedrooms, with options for private bathrooms. Bedrooms are spacious and designed to support equipment and movement with ease.

Access throughout the home is carefully considered, with wide doorways, smooth pathways, and features that support safe movement.

Ceiling hoist options are available, and automatic doors help reduce physical strain during daily routines.

Designed For Complex Needs

This SDA home supports a range of higher support needs, including physical disability and more complex care requirements.

The layout allows support workers to assist safely while maintaining comfort and dignity for the person living there.

Clinical nursing support is available onsite, and support workers are experienced in working with higher physical needs.

This helps daily care feel organised and steady rather than rushed or reactive.

Shared Living With Space And Privacy

Shared SDA living still allows for personal space and privacy. Private bedrooms and ensuite options help create a sense of personal ownership, while shared areas offer opportunities for connection when wanted.

The design allows people to move between private and shared spaces easily, depending on how they feel each day.

That flexibility supports emotional comfort as well as physical needs.

Where SDA Fits With SIL

SDA focuses on the home itself, while Supported Independent Living focuses on daily support.

When these two work together, the result is a living environment that feels safer and more consistent.

The home supports the support, allowing care to happen smoothly without unnecessary barriers. This can make daily routines feel more predictable and less stressful.

Take The Next Step

Choosing SDA is a significant decision that involves understanding both your housing and support needs.

It is okay to take time, ask questions, and talk through options before making any decisions.

If you want to explore whether SDA could be a good fit, Jordy is available to talk things through with you.

That conversation can happen at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful of your needs.
